General & Higher Education

The Key, Preliminary, First, Advanced and Proficiency exams are for learners who need English for career and higher education purposes. Our most popular exam is C1 Advanced (formerly CAE), which is often used for university admission, amongst other things.

Schools & Young Learners

Starters, Movers and Flyers introduce young children to everyday written and spoken English. The 'For Schools' versions of Key, Preliminary and First are the next logical step, and a good place for older children to start learning English, too.

Multi-Level Tests

The best known of these is IELTS, which is administered exclusively by the British Council. It is often used for university admission, in the same way as C1 Advanced.

Ready to Register?

If you already know which exam you want to do, and you've checked out the date, price and payment deadline, you can register for the exam by clicking on this button and filling in the form. (Please note that we will only register you for the exam if it is fully paid for before the relevant deadline).

Register Now

Two to three weeks before your exam date, we will send you a Confirmation of Entry and Timetable, detailing the date and location of your exams, and the rules you must follow. On the day of the exam, you must have valid photo ID with you, and arrive not later than 30 minutes before the first part is scheduled to begin.

You will receive your results around four weeks after the exam, and you will be able to collect your certificate from us a further four weeks after that. In the case of First, Advanced and Proficiency, if a university needs confirmation of your results before your certificate arrives, it is possible to share your results securely with them electronically.

Need Some Help?

James is your man. He's been a Cambridge Examiner for 20 years, and has been  teaching exam classes for even longer. He has successfully prepared hundreds of candidates, and knows all there is to know about Cambridge exams. He teaches all our exam classes, both online and face-to-face. We have two types of exam preparation course:

General Exam Courses

These are our 'standard' courses: twice a week, with a balance of grammar, vocabulary, skills work and practice for Cambridge English exams.

Intensive Exam Preparation Courses

If you're planning to do an exam in the next few months, this once-a-week course is for you. We look at each part of the exam, discuss strategies, and practice!

Not Sure? Book Your Online Chat

Our aim is to make your exam experience as smooth as possible. An important part of this is to make sure you take the right exam at the right time, and understand what preparation you need to do. To help you with this, we offer a free counselling service.

It's super simple, and absolutely nothing to be afraid of! You'll have a 10-20 minute online chat with James (don't worry, he speaks Slovak, too). He will assess the level of your spoken English, and answer all your questions.

James might also suggest sending you some materials electronically to check the level of your other skills. If you'd like to investigate before the chat, there is a quick test on the Cambridge English website

Our counselling is completely free, and there is no obligation to sign up for an exam or course. You can arrange the chat using this form: just choose your date and time and then fill in your details. Or, if you prefer, you can get in touch through our contact page.
